- Can I be guaranteed fulltime work?
Fulltime work is available on a continuous basis depending upon your individual situation. We will never confirm an assignment without your permission, therefore we cannot guarantee fulltime work on a regular basis. You make the decision to accept or decline assignment offers. Employee performance is also a factor in volume of hours. Based on your performance, facilties will request or decline your services for future placements. Assignments are guaranteed only according to our cancellation policy( see question # 2).
- What is the cancellation policy?
Hours are guaranteed according to the cancellation policies with the facilities. To avoid a penalty charge, a facility must provide 24 hour notice of cancellation for local placements or one week notice for placements that involve travel arrangements for the pharmacist or technician.
- Can I work locally or do I need to travel?
Yes, you can work locally within the states we serve. We have assignments within a normal daily commute from your home base as well as in locations that would involve travel. We offer assignments best suited to your personal preferences but you make the choice. Some of our employees are busy fulltime in their home city while others enjoy a variety of both travel and local assignments.
- How can I increase my hours?
Factors that influence the number of assignments offered are:
a. Versatility to work in different settings.
b. Number of work days available for placement.
c. Ability to accept travel assignments.
d. Licensure in more than one state enables us to offer more choices to you.
e. Communication - our ability to reach you to discuss assignment choices.
f. Your performance - Employees who have served a facility very well will be requested back time and time again.
- What are the lengths of assignments?
The assignment durations vary according to the specific needs of the requesting facility. Assignments can be one day or several months long.
- Can new graduates apply?
Absolutely! Temporary assignments can offer an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a variety of settings.
- What happens if I cannot complete an assignment?
a. If you cannot complete the assignment due to a medical or family emergency, we will strive to provide replacement coverage for the period of leave that you require.
b. In the rare occurrence when you are unhappy with your assignment, we will do our utmost, as your advocate, to resolve the problem. If the situation is not within our ability to correct and the time remaining to complete the assignment is significant we will strive to replace you. If there is little time remaining on the assignment we may ask you to complete the assignment so the facility does not have to orientate a new therapist. At the end of the assignment, you would be asked to complete an evaluation of your experience for Rx On Call records. On this evaluation form, you could state your preference to decline future placements in this facility. As a standard policy, our therapists are provided with thorough information about an assignment BEFORE they accept the assignment.
- Will I be reimbursed for travel assignments?
Rx On Call provides overnight lodging at no expense to you while you are on assignment. Approved mileage is reimbursed at the IRS allowable rate, adjusted annually. If you have unique circumstances where you can make your own housing arrangements for travel assignments, we may be able to offer you a per diem. Be sure to indicate these regions on your application form and discuss them specifically with the Staffing Director assigned to you.
- Will my mileage be reimbursed?
Approved mileage is reimbursed at the IRS allowable rate, adjusted annually. Mileage is determined specific to each travel assignment. In some circumstances, we reimburse for daily commute mileage. Mileage is also reimbursed for home health service.
- What is your salary range?
Our salary scale varies according to clinical experience and geographical region. Salary increases can occur within a few months of hire if performance feedback from facilities is excellent. We offer competetive salary rates for both Pharmacists and Pharmay Techs.
- Do you offer benefits?
After approximately three months from the date of hire, we offer medical and dental benefits to employees who work an average of 125 hours or more per month. Employees who work 80-125 hours per month are able to receive the same benefits with a partial premium payment. In addition, we offer a 401 K plan.
- Do you have a non-compete with other temporary staffing companies?
No, you may accept assignments from the company of your choice. It is our goal to earn the respect of both you and the facilities we serve so that you will choose to do business with Rx On Call. PT On Call has earned extremely high customer loyalty since it's start in 1986.
- Is there opportunity to find a permanent position through Rx On Call?
Absolutely. Facilities who are searching for a Pharmacist or technician to fill a vacancy often prefer to hire someone who is well known to them after a temporary assignment. If we have introduced an employee within a year, a facility anticipates a negotiable placement fee.
- Who can I use as references?
Supervisors from previous jobs are preferred. Pharmacist coworkers, who could attest to your pharmaceutical skills and Instructors, are acceptable. We generally request a minimum of three references from the immediate five years of pharmaceutical employment. You can submit letters of reference but we will still need to receive our own reference forms completed to demonstrate employer diligence.
- Do you cover relocation expenses?
No. However, if your first Rx On Call placement is considered a travel assignment, some of your mileage to come to the location may be reimburseable.
